Episerver infrastructure:

  • ARRAffinity - Assign unique identifier to ensure that users requests are handles by same server behind load balancer (a.k.a. sticky session)
  • .AspNet.Cookies - Stores identity of currently logged in users (applies only to logged in users)
  • _cfduid - Generated by Cloudflare and used to identify individual clients behind a shared IP address and apply security settings on a per-client basis
  • _epiXSRF - Prevents Cross Site Request Forgery attacks

Application Insights:

  • ai_user - unique indentifier used by AppInsight to store user context in order to help diagnosing issues
  • ai_session - used by AppInsight to store user session context in order to help diagnosing issues

Marketing, analytics and advertising

Google Analytics:

  • __utma - Used to track of the number of times a visitor has visited a site, when their first visit was, and when their last visit occurred.
  • __utmb, __utmc - The B and C cookies are working together to calculate how long a visit takes. __utmb takes a timestamp of the exact moment in time when a visitor enters a site, while __utmc takes a timestamp of the exact moment in time when a visitor leaves a site.
